Commissioning engineer

Job description

Do you like to work with high-tech machines at various international customers? Are you good at organizing and coming up with creative solutions? And do you want to contribute to sustainability and animal welfare? Join In Ovo as Commissioning engineer!

Who we are

Over the past 10 years, In Ovo has been developing and implementing our high-tech Ella machine, which can determine the gender of eggs. This prevents the culling of millions of chicks per machine and has a massive impact on animal welfare and efficiency, saves resources, and creates a more ethically acceptable egg production channel. With new legislation and interest from retailers coming up in multiple countries, we see more and more hatcheries requesting the In Ovo solution to support their business. We will grow considerably as a company, continue to improve our machines and will put many machines in the market, in order to end the culling of chicks completely. This way, we will make a significant, positive impact on animal welfare and sustainability in the global poultry sector over the coming years.

You will be joining a young and ambitious team that likes to have fun. The entire team works ambitiously to realize the success of the company and our solutions. This creates many challenges and therefore also many victories, and successes are there to be celebrated. In short: a pleasant and informal atmosphere! Catching up with colleagues is extremely valuable to us to maintain our connection.

Who you are

As Commissioning engineer, you are responsible for installing, setting-up and testing our machines at our customers in the Netherlands and abroad. In this job you solve technical and practical issues at the site of our customers. You are someone who likes to roll up your sleeves and enjoys tinkering with machines. In this role you work together closely with the rest of the engineering team of In Ovo.

As Commissioning engineer, you are the first point of contact of the customer and solve problems that occur with the machine on site. You love to come up with creative and practical solutions when unexpected situations arise. Before the machine arrives at the customer, you are present at the site to prepare for the arrival of the machine. When the machine arrives, you are responsible for installing and setting up the machine. The machine has already been tested at the factory, but needs to be tested again at the customer in the form of a SAT (Site Acceptancy Test). You also provide the customer with clear instructions about how the machine works.

This is a very dynamic position because you work at several different customers in the Netherlands and abroad. You therefore regularly stay abroad for a period of time. On location you often work together with local mechanics and contractors with various backgrounds. Because of this you understand that every customer and culture need a different approach to ensure good collaboration.
