Are you a technical expert, do you have knowledge of and experience with mass spectrometry and do you enjoy setting up experiments to speed up and improve the output of high-tech machinery? Do you have affinity with a fast-growing environment, animal welfare and technology? Then the position of research technician mass spectrometry (MS) at In Ovo is of interest to you.
Who are we?
Over the past 10 years, In Ovo has been developing and implementing our high-tech Ella machine, which can determine the gender of eggs. This prevents the culling of millions of chicks per machine and has a massive impact on animal welfare and efficiency, saves resources, and creates a more ethically acceptable egg production channel. With new legislation and interest from retailers coming up in multiple countries, we see more and more hatcheries requesting the In Ovo solution to support their business. We will grow considerably as a company, continue to improve our machines and will put many machines in the market, in order to end the culling of chicks completely. This way, we will make a significant, positive impact on animal welfare and sustainability in the global poultry sector over the coming years.
You will be joining a young and ambitious team that likes to have fun. The entire team works ambitiously to realize the success of the company and our solutions. This creates many challenges and therefore also many victories, and successes are there to be celebrated. In short: a pleasant and informal atmosphere! Catching up with colleagues is extremely valuable to us to maintain our connection.
What will you do?
As the research technician mass spectrometry (MS) you are responsible for mass spectrometry-related work on our machines. You have a solid understanding of mass spectrometry and are able to further develop, improve and optimize the functioning of high-tech equipment. You do this by testing the MS system and making adjustments wherever necessary. You excel in analyzing data and drawing the right conclusions.
To ensure optimization, you regularly run production shifts, perform regular maintenance and support the service engineers with the installation of parts when necessary. Writing a service manual and the required protocols are of course also part of your job description.
You will work closely with R&D and the MS colleagues to optimize our machinery. You identify and communicate about all possible mass spectrometric matters that will ensure a smooth production process. In a natural communicative way, you are able to include stakeholders in what needs to be done. You motivate and inspire your In Ovo colleagues and other stakeholders in the various projects.
