Data scientist

Are you a seasoned data scientist, always in pursue of more data, better algorithms and tools, and more challenges? Are you looking to work for a purpose driven organization built around animal welfare and technology? Do you want to work in an innovative and entrepreneurial setting with lots of responsibility and fun? Apply now as data scientist in the Eve team!

Who are we?

Eve was envisioned when we discovered that chickens literally and figuratively hatch in a black box. Now, with our sensor platform, we measure as many variables as possible in hatcheries that are critical to animal welfare and the hatching success of chickens. The Eve team combines knowledge of software, hardware, sensors, IoT, poultry and big data to provide insights that will lead to improvements in the hatching process. We are now transitioning from development to the roll-out of Eve, which will have a positive impact on millions of animals.

We have a young and ambitious team that likes to work on interesting technology and do fun things.
We collaborate to make our company and solutions successful. This creates both challenges and victories that we obviously celebrate. In short: a fun and informal atmosphere!

What will you do?

As data scientist in the Eve team your main task is to translate our data into valuable insights for our end users. The data you will be working with is very diverse and requires a broad skill set. Initially, you will analyse the Eve data to quickly come up with algorithms to extract insights. We follow a lean approach so your algorithms will be applied directly into practice and integrated into our IoT data system.

We give you the opportunity to take up lots of responsibility, so once you’re up to speed and understand the system and our goals, you’ll set the roadmap for developing even better algorithms, and encourage the team to collect more, and better data.

What will you bring?

  • A completed relevant HBO/WO programme (AI/ML/Bioinformatics)
  • Good understanding of machine learning algorithms
  • Experience with image and sensor data (processing, analysis, ML model development)
  • Experience with one or multiple tool kits (SciKit learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch etc.)
  • Experience and knowledge of large datasets and statistics
  • A practical approach to software and programming
  • Fluent in English (spoken and in writing)

What do we offer?

  • Working at a scale-up company, with the unique opportunity to contribute to the development of exciting innovations with a global impact on the welfare of billions of animals
  • Collaboration with a very diverse team, full of colleagues from different disciplines
  • Lots of responsibilities and opportunities for creative input
  • Salary based on knowledge and experience
  • A flexible work environment to ensure a balance between family and working life
