Are you an expert in setting up and managing processes? Do you have an affinity with technology, poultry farming and excel in stakeholder management for large projects? Then the position of Production Manager at In Ovo is interesting for you.
About our company
Since we started out in 2011, we have been developing an automated process to determine the sex of a chick while still inside the egg. We aim to prevent the hatching and then culling of billions of male chicks worldwide just because they do not lay eggs. In 2020, we installed the first version of our Ella machine in a hatchery. Since then, we have developed the technology further, and a new, improved Ella began operating in 2022.
Ella is only the initial step on our journey, our first pioneering innovation. We are determined to develop our business further and create many more innovative ideas. When it comes to animal welfare and climate change, all sorts of challenges exist and cry out for imaginative ideas and unconventional solutions. These are precisely the challenges that drive us forward.
At In Ovo, we combine analytical insight with a no-nonsense approach. We don’t get caught up in endless discussions. And we don't stare at the screen for hours on end. We look at the hatcheries from the inside. Because our solutions have to work for them if what we do is to succeed.
As a Production Manager at In Ovo, you play a crucial role due to your unique background and experience in engineering, machine maintenance, and service. You will primarily focus on Project Ella. You are the one who organizes in our team that our machines function well at customers' sites and takes care of the maintenance and (international) expansion of the number of hatcheries where we can implement our high-throughput sex determination.
However, your involvement extends further. In addition to the specific tasks for this project, you contribute to the general business operations by providing valuable input for other ongoing projects. Your versatility allows you to flexibly switch between different tasks, even outside your traditional job description.
You ensure a safe working environment, manage production sites, coordinate with customer contracts, and maintain high standards in planning, personnel management, performance, and maintenance. You are responsible for optimizing production environments at various locations, preparing and managing new locations for our solutions, and providing input for improvements to our machines and technologies.
You work closely with various departments, manage external technical partners, and travel between locations. Your role is dynamic and includes both daily operational leadership and strategic project development, making it a challenging and versatile position.
Your expertise contributes to the continuous improvement of our products and services. Through your insights and specialist knowledge, you make a significant contribution to In Ovo's projects.
This role requires a proactive attitude in collaboration and communication with colleagues, which is essential for realizing our growth ambitions. Your impact on projects such as the sex determination project is considerable, where you not only drive progress but also discover new insights and opportunities.
- You have a BSc or MSc degree.
- You have demonstrable experience with technology and operations/services in a complex environment.
- You are communicatively skilled with leadership qualities.
- You are an organizer with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Affinity with technology and project management; experience in hatchery is a plus.
- You have a passion to make an impact in the sector.
- You speak fluent Dutch and English.
- You are in possession of a driver's license B.
